Exceed Units Notice

We are working hard this year to regularly monitor student progress in terms of academics, social-emotional health, behavior and attendance to ensure we are able to communicate with families, respond to concerns and intervene as quickly as possible to help our students. Strive to gain access to the opportunities and education we offer. We will be keeping a close eye on attendance, especially this term, as research shows that regular attendance is critical for students to be successful in school. Students who participate are more likely to succeed academically, connect with others, and are better prepared to succeed outside of school. This semester, we will increase communication with families when a student's attendance drops below 90%, as this is the state threshold for being classified as a chronically absent student. In addition to the daily absence calls, every 2 weeks our school will send an email or direct phone call to families of students who are frequently absent, advising them of their student's attendance and letting them know if their student's attendance has improved. two weeks. .There may be parent-teacher conferences for students who have not progressed for several weeks with the aim of coming together as a team to identify challenges and implement supports to ensure we are doing everything we can to help students return.

California law states that absences can only be excused if the child is sick or has an excuse that meets the requirements of California Education Code Section 48205. Even if absences cause your child to miss a lot of school, it can cause your child to fail a grade. Falling behind in class and may result in them being classed as chronically absent. Our school will continue to require proof of absence due to illness or isolation if your child is absent from school for three consecutive days. Be aware that leaving town while school is in session for your child You have an unexcused absence.

We want all of our students to be available each day, but we also understand that absences can be a challenge at times. As we continue to advance student learning and growth, we look forward to strengthening our work with families to ensure that all Vincis have the support they need to pursue their education and succeed.
