Carolina and Pembroke have partnered with the Primary Care Program and the Eshelman School of Pharmacy to create a seamless pathway for pre-pharmacy students.

Current and prospective Pembroke students interested in pursuing a doctorate in pharmacy can meet the requirements for guaranteed admission to the Eshelman School, the nation's largest pharmacy program.

Chancellor Kevin M. Guskiewicz said, "One of our greatest strengths as an administration is the collaboration between our schools and the privilege of working together in our shared mission of service. "This partnership with Pembroke is an important step in increasing access to our nation's students and enhancing our ability to train the next generation of leaders at the Eshelman School of Pharmacy."
Robin Chancellor Gary Cummings said, "Expanding educational opportunities through partnerships is a priority at P. "We want our students to understand that whatever their goals in life are, they can achieve them at P.."

"This partnership will not only create an exciting new educational path for P students in a highly competitive environment, but it could lead to a healthy future for Southeastern North Carolina," Cummings said. "This partnership is another example of our public university leveraging its strengths to meet the needs of our communities."
Taylor Felton, a Robeson County resident and pharmacy resident at Cape Fear Valley Health, was excited to learn about the partnership. Felton, a junior, received his MD from Eshelman last May.
"I think this program will be very beneficial, especially for students from the Southeast. We need more representation from the P. of Eshelman," Felton said. will help develop the medical field throughout the Southeast. I wish he was with me when I was a student."
Co Admission Agreements
"Last November, I went to P. to meet the members of the leadership team, faculty, staff and students. "We then identified several ways to collaborate with Pembroke on educational projects. I am pleased that this guaranteed admission agreement is moving forward because it has been identified as a priority. We look forward to welcoming many P students to our program."
The first batch of pre-confirmed P Fellows will begin their journey in the fall of 2023. Up to five students are accepted each year.
