Uva Calendar Fall 2023 – Our online middle school programs are designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter college in their pursuit of a fulfilling and productive life. Students must pass the Ontario Secondary Education Examination, which is given every year in March. Passing this test is an OSSD requirement. Students who do not pass can attend Ontario Secondary School (OSSLC). The principal has sole authority to allow a student to enroll in the OSSLC before the student has a second opportunity to take the OSSLT, if the principal determines it is in the student's best educational interest. Students who pass that level are considered to have met the academic requirements for graduation. Reading and literacy requirements are in the best interests of students. To allow flexibility in the organization of the student's program and to ensure that all students can qualify for the diploma, the high school can replace a small number of required courses. Additional courses will be selected from UVA campus offerings that meet the required credit requirements. To meet the needs of each student, the dean may substitute up to three of these courses (or the equivalent of one-half course) with courses that meet the required credit requirements. Each "other" will be noted on the Ontario Student Report Card.
From grades 10 to 12, a student may transfer to another course in a given subject area if the student has taken any course designated as a prerequisite for that course. If the student has not done this, they can take one of the required courses through summer school, night school, online learning, independent learning, or independent learning. .

In the middle and at the end of each course, the student will receive a Report Card with the partial or final percentage, credits received, attendance details and a record of the student's academic performance.
