Breakfast is usually steamed bananas and fried papayas. This breakfast is taken by many people during the Onam festival. Then people make flower carpets of Onam (Pok Lam). 2. Chhithira (second day): The second day also begins with worship and prayer. A few new flowers are then added to the Pookkalam, with both the female and the male getting the flower. 3. Chodhi (third day): The third day is very important as all the markets are ready for shopping and people are buying things to prepare for the big day of Thiruvonam. 4.Visakam (fourth day): Today flower carpet competitions are held in many places. The women prepare bread, fries, etc. for important days. 5. Anizham (Day 5): The main attraction of the day is the great snake boat race known as Vallamkali. 6.Thriketa (The Sixth Day): Many cultural events take place today. People of all ages attend and they also visit their loved ones to add charm to the celebration. 7. Moolam (seventh day): The excitement of the people is fierce today. The market is decorated with various dishes. People walk around and enjoy a variety of foods. Women buy a lot of things to decorate their houses. 8. Pooradam (eighth day): Today people make small clay idols in the shape of a pyramid. They call them "ma" and give them beautiful flowers. 9. Uthiradam (Ninth Day): Also known as Onam, it is a day of great excitement when everyone eagerly awaits the arrival of their king. All the arrangements become grand and the women form a huge Pookkalam. 10. Thiruvonam (tenth day): The big day has arrived and everyone starts blessing each other when King Mahabali comes to bless them. The most beautiful floral carpets were made today and Onam Sadhya's big food platter was prepared. Many cultural events are held in different places and fireworks add to the fun of the atmosphere. This day is also known as Second Onam. The Onam festival continues for two days after Thiruvonam, making it 12 days in total. However, 10 days before Thiruvonam was considered significant. 11. Avittom (The Eleventh Day): Also known as Onam III, people prepare today for the return of the king. Some perform the ritual of pouring the statue of Anath Ben into the river or the sea, which is kept at their bodhisattva center for 10 days. After that, the floral carpet is removed and cleaned. However, some people keep the flower carpet (Pookalam) for up to twenty-eight days after Thiruvonam. Today, the famous tiger dance (Pulikali) is also practiced. 12.
