After a major disaster, police, fire and medical personnel may not be able to meet the demand for emergency medical care. Residents and neighbors may have to rely on each other to help with emergency life-saving needs, especially in isolated areas that may be cut off from roads. CERT training can prepare you to help your community in an emergency. The next class starts on Tuesday, March 7, 2023!

Covid 19 Vaccine Mandate For California Schools Face Uncertainty

Calabasas Tennis and Swim Club is looking for swim staff. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older, be certified by the American Red Cross as a lifeguard, and have a background in swimming (either on a swim team, water polo or surfing!).

Our current starting hourly rate is $15 per hour with a flexible schedule of 20-25 hours per week. Complete the Calabasas City Service Application and submit it to the Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center at 23400 Sorrento Park in Calabasas.

Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center looks forward to hosting your next event. The center has a country club feel, but it's affordable. The center has two intimate rooms and a beautiful patio overlooking the tennis court for private functions. Our staff will provide the best service for any event, be it a birthday party, graduation, school/club party or retirement party. In addition, our company offers catering services for our guests. Join us on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 PM Founders Hall at 200 Civic Center Way in Calabasas for a fun afternoon of events. The event will feature sweet and savory treats, tasty treats, door prizes and a live performance by the Sam & Adam Band. This event is free for Calabasas High School members, $5 for Calabasas residents and $6 for non-residents.

The results of this year's Recycling Information Calendar Competition were announced and the winners announced at the Environment Committee meeting on 6 December. There were 1,675 entries, mostly from elementary and middle schools in Calabasas. 73 teachers participated in the competition. Each successful student will receive a $25 gift card and teachers will receive a $50 gift card of their choice for each package sent to the city. Copies of the calendar have been distributed to all Calabasas schools and are available at all city facilities and supermarkets.

The Community Development Authority has also issued a Notice of Funding Available (NOFA) for the development of affordable housing in the city. A total of $4,457,461 was raised through this program. In response to the devastating wildfires of 2018, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for disaster relief. for expenditure on – Areas affected within the state. The city was identified as a co-recipient of CDBG-DR funds because Calabasas was severely damaged in the Wolsey Fires of 2018. If selected, qualified home developers can receive up to $3,257,461 in CDBG-DR funding and up to $1,200,000 from Urban Affordable Housing Trust Fund. Participants have a chance to win the best big screen prize. The first 50 participants will receive a Perks Make Life Better Award. Contributions can also be used for future activity guides, social media, calendar events and flyers.

This category includes photos of anything (business, structure, art, landscape, etc.) within the Calabasas city limits, except for parks, open space, or Community Services Department services.

The municipal council's articles are available online the Wednesday before the municipal council meeting. All council agendas are available online the Friday before the council meeting. All City Council meetings and committee meetings are held in the City Hall meeting room at 100 Civic Center Way in Calabasas.
