Lego Gwp Calendar June 2023 – January 2023 marks the start of a brand new year, and that means a brand new LEGO set will be released! It's one of the biggest LEGO set release windows of the year, and one of the most exciting when we finally get our hands on new LEGO sets for 2023!
Also available on January 1st is the new 2023 LEGO modular building, 10312 Jazz Club, available to LEGO VIPs, but there are many other popular releases including 31208 Hokusai: The Great Wave and 80111 Lunar Parade.

For minifigure collectors, LEGO Minifigures Series 24 is officially available, with 12 awesome new figures to look for! Unfortunately, those of us in Australia will have to wait until February for the series Down Under.

With so many new LEGO sets on shelves, LEGO.com will also be running lots of offers and promotions in January, and you can get specific offers, availability information and GWP thresholds in your local currency on regional pages.
The big LEGO GWP for January 2023 is 40580 Blacktron Cruiser, available from January 1 to February 14 at LEGO.com or your local LEGO store.
LEGO 40575 Year of the Rabbit, based on the Chinese zodiac animal of 2023, will be given away with purchases between the 15th and 25th. Available January 2023 at LEGO.com for $85. Dollars / 85 euros / 80 pounds bought.

This is an annual release (but available worldwide!) Created with the Chinese LEGO market in mind, and the 9th LEGO Chinese Zodiac animal to date!
January 2023 will see another bonus for LEGO VIP members, the 40605 Lunar New Year VIP Add-On Pack, which, like previous VIP Add-On Packs, can be added to your order at a very low cost.
There seems to be a lot of oriental and lunar themed accessories like gold bars, chips, silver, feathers, bunnies, etc.

There is another interesting and mysterious LEGO GWP, which according to Brickset is "40583 World Houses of the World".

Unfortunately, I don't think this trend will slow down, and even though we are only 16 days into the new year, looking at the rate of GWP output in January 2023, I think it will only accelerate.
New Lego City Farm Sets Revealed!
Yesterday we got a taste of one of LEGO's most expensive GWPs, 40583 Houses of World 1, the first in a series of 4 very expensive GWPs that have caused a frenzy among LEGO fans. Check out the discussion about GWP on Jay's Brick Blog's Facebook page.
In case you missed it, $250 on LEGO.com between January 15 and 25, 2023. 40583 Houses of the World 1 is available as a GWP when you USD / AU$ 400 / GBP 220 / EUR 250 / CAD $ 350 spent.
The waste of dissatisfaction with this incredibly high threshold of LEGO fans (don't forget the 40580 Blacktron Cruiser) then made a thought.

The LEGO GWP threshold becomes more expensive and we get GWP faster.
But is this sentiment driven by the conversation surrounding Houses of the World 1, or is it actually based on data?
I first created a calendar and plotted all the LEGO GWP releases for 2022 to give you an idea of the GWP frequency.

It is also a nice bird's eye view of the 2022 GWP in the months they are released.
2022 actually got off to a slow start, but had an unusually high GWP threshold of 40532 Vintage Taxi (current Bricklink average – $30) and many believed it was set at that price to qualify for Boutique Hotel.
The most popular 2022 GWP – 40567 Forest Hideout (current Bricklink average – $35) is only $150. Sounds like a bargain with a threshold of $100,000.

We had a couple of months with two expensive GWPs – Star Wars Day and Space Cardboard Adventures for the May release, and the next month was November for the Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales weekend.

Here's what happens if we add the January 2023 GWP (the only one we have this year) to the chart.
With the Blacktron Cruiser already in 2022, almost all GWPs have passed except for the Vintage Taxi and Tribute to LEGO House, it's only January but we have a tribute pack to LEGO House.
If you look at the trend line, yes, it is not wrong that the LEGO GWP threshold is getting progressively more expensive. You can't argue otherwise.
Every 2023 Lego Set: The Complete List
My concern is what happens if you extrapolate this trend line further and what the rest of the year will look like.
Another unexplained observation is that GWP of rare variants also increases. January offers an unprecedented 3 GWPs, which is extremely rare.
We're not sure what February will bring, but rumors are swirling with Bionicle GWPs and possibly a Pizza Van GWP to accompany the 10312 Jazz Club, who knows!

So not only is GWP more expensive, but it is increasing, which we have to take into account in this year's procurement plan.
The most important thing I can suggest is… I think it's a good idea to ignore GWPs and say no, especially if they're out of your reach, especially if they don't fit your interests or collection.
As LEGO fans, we must learn to avoid FOMO and let things go.
